Richard Lara, Esq.

Richard has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. since 2016. He brings broad and substantial industry and trial experience to the role. Prior to joining the company, Richard advised domestic and international corporate clients on business disputes and served as lead litigator in high-stakes trials in both federal and state courts.

Richard practiced law at Mase Lara, P.A., a Miami-based boutique trial firm, where he focused primarily on complex civil and commercial litigation. He has also frequently appeared on televised news programs to provide legal commentary.

In addition to his professional work, Richard is actively involved in the community. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal, having been appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott. Richard also previously served as Chair of the 11th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for The Florida Bar and was nominated for “Man of the Year” by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Richard earned his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
