Doug is Senior Vice President, National Network Strategy and Services at Molina Healthcare.
He was formerly President and CEO of Anthem’s Florida markets, including Freedom, Optimum, Simply, and HealthSun. In this role, Doug and his teams proudly serve more than 240,000 senior Floridians. His organization also provides care for some of the state’s most frail and vulnerable populations, including individuals enrolled in DSNP and CSNP programs.
With a strong passion for healthcare and economics, leading Florida’s Medicare markets has been a natural fit for Doug. He is committed to driving meaningful change and continuous improvement across the healthcare delivery ecosystem. After nearly two decades in leadership and externally facing roles, Doug firmly believes that the right balance of transparency, incentives, accountability, and collaboration creates an environment where all stakeholders can succeed.
Doug is equally committed to fostering a culture focused on execution, continuous improvement, urgency, and a bias toward action. He believes that meaningful progress must be rooted locally, as deep community connections are essential to strengthening the healthcare ecosystem and improving overall well-being.
A process-oriented leader and calculated risk-taker, Doug has led significant expansions in value-based payment models, achieved substantial operational efficiency improvements, and developed deeper partnerships with provider organizations and local communities. During his tenure at Anthem, he has earned a strong reputation for developing and executing innovative business strategies, turning around underperforming operations, and building sustainable, long-term relationships.
Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Clemson University. He is a former finance and leadership professional with Morgan Stanley and IBM Global Services and brings more than 18 years of combined experience in leadership, healthcare, and finance.
