Alberto has served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of MasTec, Inc. since November 2005, with responsibility for all of the company’s corporate and operational legal matters. MasTec is a leading infrastructure construction company.
Prior to joining MasTec, Alberto served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Perry Ellis International, Inc., a leading apparel company. Earlier in his career, he was a corporate and securities attorney at Broad and Cassel, where he was elected to the partnership in 2002. Alberto also worked as an accountant at Deloitte & Touche LLP. He earned his bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Florida, his Master of Science in taxation from Florida International University and his law degree from The George Washington University Law School.
Aside from Easterseals South Florida, Alberto serves on the boards of the U.S.–Spain Council, The Order of Malta, and the Cuban Association. He is also a member of the Orange Bowl Committee and Leadership Florida. In addition, he serves on the Advisory Board of BBVA Compass Bank and is Chairman of the United Way’s Legal Cabinet.
Alberto is married and has four daughters.
