Adolfo is a partner in Holland & Knight’s Miami office. He practices litigation with an emphasis on international disputes and serves as Practice Group Leader for the firm’s South Florida Litigation Group, as well as Team Leader for the International Arbitration and Litigation Team. Adolfo also practices in the areas of media law, maritime, and transportation, and has extensive litigation and trial experience.
In addition to his civil litigation practice, Adolfo has represented clients in arbitrations administered by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the China International Trade and Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and under the UNCITRAL Rules. He has also served as a sole arbitrator in a matter governed by the ICC Rules.
Adolfo has handled a wide range of business disputes across numerous industries. His clients include hotel operators, Spanish-language media companies, telecommunications and software companies, agrochemical and mining businesses, and transportation companies, including airlines, cruise lines, railroads, and international shippers.
From 2005 to 2010, Adolfo served as Holland & Knight’s Professional Development and Recruiting Partner, overseeing attorney training and development programs, associate compensation, recruiting, mentoring, evaluations, and the partnership admissions process.
Adolfo is a contributing editor for the Litigation section of Latin Lawyer online magazine. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cuban American National Foundation and leads Georgetown University’s Latin American Alliance. He is also a member of the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of Miami-Dade.
Between 2003 and 2005, Adolfo served as Chair of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee 11-E. He was a Director of the Cuban American Bar Association during the 2002–2003 term. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Adolfo was a legal intern in the Office of General Counsel at National Public Radio in Washington, D.C.
