The Commitment
- Serve 450 hours over a one-year term (about 8-12 hours per week)
- Participate in up to 90 hours of training and professional development
- Receive a monthly living allowance and, upon successful completion, an education award for tuition, student loans, or future education
The Impact
In just one year, our LCVMF volunteers dedicated over 20,000 hours of service, bringing care, companionship, and support to 28 veteran and military families across our community. Your time and compassion will help reduce caregiver stress, strengthen family resilience, and honor the service of those who've given so much to our country.
Each year, more than 85,000 AmeriCorps members serve at thousands of nonprofits across the country. As a member, you can commit to a term of 450 to 900 hours, receive comprehensive training, a living allowance, and, upon successful completion, earn an education award that can be used for current tuition, student loans, or future educational opportunities.
Why Join?
You'll be part of a national movement - more than 85,000 AmeriCorps members serve each year, while gaining valuable experience, deepening your understanding of community needs, and belonging to a close-knit team committed to making a difference.
Serve where it matters most, inside the homes of veterans and military families. Be the reason a caregiver can breathe easier, knowing their loved one is in good hands.
